Sales......
Catching the fish... To do this you need to be a shark.... basically I had a meeting tomorrow with a restaurant owner to sell him some Cobra beer bottles. I thought because he wants to pay by cheque I should get him to sign some documents as a personal gaurantee. Although he knew that he had to sign some documents I phoned him today to remind him about tomorrows meeting and whether he was the actual owner of the place (he got upset). I then asked him if he could have some documents ready as proof of address and signature......... he said this was getting too long winded and he would now look elsewhere. I said fine.......
My thoughts:
1) He was offended because now he could not pull a fast one in the future.
2) He did not want to sign anything because it was likely that his cheques would bounce at some point.
3) I was happy that I saved myself some time by not having to visit him.

Okay, today I had a meeting that was organised last week and when arriving at the restaurant the person was not there. Although pissed off about this, it is becoming clear to me that people may not be as organised as myself and it looks like they may need a morning call as a reminder of their meeting.
I guess this is part of my learning curve in running a new business and trying to get new customers.
Okayeeeh, basically today I made my first contract with a restaurant. Don't get me wrong this has taken a year to get....
They have been supplied by someone for the last 10 years and I managed to break them. Basically I offered them a great wine range along with good price on certain products and above all I highlighted the excellent service that I could provide. Now need 19 more customers.
